Busy!!

I've been really busy lately. The big day is just 2 months away, there are plenty of things we need to do like sending out the invitation cards!

I'll update more later today.

MAC Hipness vs Nars Deep Throat

I picked up MAC Hipness from To The Beach collection without knowing it's actually a very close dupe for Nars Deep Throat which is one of my everyday blushes.

When comparing the colours in the pans, they don't look similar, at least not for me. Hipness is more of a coral pink shade in the pan while Deep Throat is more peachy pink. However, when you swatch them both next to each other, you can't really tell the difference.

I swatched MAC Peachykeen next to Hipness because I always think it looks quite similar to Deep Throat but it's a slightly darker shade compares to Deep Throat. I'm a NC35, by the way. My photos were taken under natural light.

If you already have Nars Deep Throat, would you go for Hipness?

NOTD: China Glaze Its Poppin'

China Glaze Its Poppin' from Kicks Collection is shimmery hot pink. I've plenty of pink nail lacquer but this hot pink is really wearable.

2 coats + Seche Vite top coat.

April/May MAC Hauls

I told myself I wasn't going to spend more money on cosmetics after our 2 weeks vacation in Asia. I just couldn't help it. May is always my most favourite month of the year because that's when I receive my annual bonus. I've worked really hard last year with no summer vacations and lots of overtime. I only took a week off from work to visit my family in Australia in October. So, I think I deserved to pamper myself (there's always a good excuse/reason to spend money buying MAC *lol*).

TF (the fiancé) was on his second business trip in the US early April. I wrote him a small list what to bring for me. Since he was going to be in Las Vegas for a week, I thought he could check out the CCO for me. In the end, as expected, he didn't make it to the CCO but he brought home Ever Hip lipstick, Pro Palette Blush, Brow Set and Cantaloupe blush.

Ever Hip is my most favourite lippie for spring. It is so wearable and oh so pretty. It's not easy to find colours that look good on my pigmented lips. This is also my first Cremesheen lippie from MAC, I always prefer Lustre and Amplified.

Cantaloupe is a beautiful, cantaloupe warm shade blush. I like it on my NC30/35 skin tone.

MAC Give Me Liberty of London was launched on 1st April. I only had time to stop by MAC after a week and Shell Pearl was sold out in the stores. When I first saw Blooming Lovely, I wasn't sure if I'd ever wear that colour. Like my sister said, it looks like something only Lady Gaga would wear! My MA tried it on my lips and I fell in love with the colour. I'm a blush person, I usually will grab at least one blush from LE collections. Since I already bought Dirty Plum from Hong Kong in February (Riveting wasn't available in the Czech Republic), I only grabbed Prim & Proper. The colour looks similar to Cubic blush, a permanent item but darker. I didn't have any colour like Birds & Berries in my palettes so I decided to get it. I haven't tried it yet though.

I was so looking forward to Pret a Papier collection, unfortunately they would not be available here. I guess that's why To The Beach was launched earlier on 1st May. This is a beautiful collection (love the packaging) but I only bought the blushes - Hipness and Get-Away Bronze. I already have Humid and Shimmermoss and the rest of the eyeshadows didn't really catch my eyes.

I picked up Viva Glam Gaga (my first Viva Glam lippie) and Satin Taupe after work yesterday. I always thought it's overrated. I swatched it and had my MA to try the colour on me, I actually like it!

Swatches to come in the next post.

I think MAC should go on my no-buy list for a while. The next upcoming collection for us is Superglass which I'm definitely going to skip.

NOTD: China Glaze For Audrey

For Audrey was on my *lemming* list for over a year. I wasn't sure if the shade will look good me since I couldn't see it in person. I'm glad I bought it! It's the Tiffany & Co shade.

I applied 2 coats and it dried pretty fast. Really love the colour! It's the third day and no chipping so far.

Here's the swatch for you, naturalnchicmakeup! :) No flash, natural light.

China Glaze & Trans Design Haul

I first discovered China Glaze over a year ago. I only knew OPI, Orly and Essie at that time. I was having my nails done at the salon and I saw Ink and OMG display stands on the counter. I picked up Rose Among Thorns, Japanese Koi and Pink Voltage. The nail salon then had 50% off on CG polish and I bought more of them which were from older collection.

One of the main reasons I love CG is because they have a lot of fun colours. Currently I have 18 of them and I haven't found any I don't like. Unfortunately there are only a few places here you can find them and they aren't cheap. I paid my first ones 280CZK each (around 10€ at that time). Yes, they're very pricey. One OPI is approximately 17€ here, and yes, I've paid that crazy amount of money for my OPI!

I used to order my CG from Head2Toe until they stopped shipping them outside the US. I placed my first order at Trans Design early April and ordered 9 polishes, 6 are CG. It was my first and last order from Trans Design. I had a great experience with them but unfortunately they no longer offer flat rate box for international orders. I doubt I'll ever pay over $40 for nail polish that will cost me less than $30. The price including shipping is as expensive as getting them here. They shipped really fast but my order only arrived after 2 weeks due to the volcanic ash issue we had in Europe last month.

I got myself For Audrey (finally!), It’s Poppin, Sugar High, Grape Pop, Heli-Yum and Strawberry Fields. Out of these shades, Strawberry Fields is my most favourite. It's so beautiful and I still don't know why I didn't get it last year (I only bought Raspberry Festival from Summer Days last year). I like the formula from this collection because the polish is so easy to apply, 2 coats are enough and they dry fast.

I'm loving Grape Pop. When I first saw it, I wasn't sure about the colour. It looks kinda different when I had it on my nails. Even TF (the fiance) who always thinks I've scary nail colours thought it's a beautiful one.
